(Day 65 of the 88th Legislative Session):
Texas Senate
Subject: Supplemental Appropriations Act, Senate Bill 30 (SB30)
- Author: State Sen. Joan Huffman (R-Houston)
- TFR Position: Oppose
- Background: Violates principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility as it seeks to expand government with $5 billion in general revenue and $11.9 billion in all funds. This includes increasing the salaries of government bureaucrats among other one-time and ongoing expenditures the Legislature chose not to prioritize in the general appropriations act for FY2022-23, ensuring that it takes away from additional funding that could instead be used for tax relief.
